How to Add Social Sharing Buttons to Blogger

Though Blogger has a default social sharing buttons displayed at the end of each post, it looks so dull and do not attract the blog visitors to share the article with their social media friends. Having more visible and more appealing social sharing buttons on our blog/ website can make the readers take action.

I browsed through many well-written blogs to find a very simple way to do this. But I found that I had to copy too many codes to my Blog Template to make it work. Some didn't work as I wished to though I followed the instructions correctly. I wanted to do very little work on the HTML code since I didn't want to mess with the appearance of my Blog.

Finally, I found an easy way to add Social Share buttons to my blog that looked neat and easy to instal. You don't even have to do much with editing the HTML code of your template if you follow these simple and easy steps.

Here are the 10 simple steps to add Social Sharing Buttons to your blog:

1. Go and create an account in if you don't have one already.
2. Click on "Tools"

3. Choose the "Sharing Sidebar" and click on "Settings" to have your chosen sharing buttons on the widget.

4. Scroll down to choose the desired Theme. Under "Services" choose 'Select Your Own'. Drag the services that you want from the left frame to the right frame. Once you are done, click on the "Update" button

5. We are going to add these social sharing buttons to "Blogger". So scroll down to "AddThis Code" and copy the code from the inside of the text box.

6. Go to the "Design" page of your blog and Click on "Template"
7. Click on "Edit HTML" button.

8. Click inside the HTML box and press ctrl and F buttons simultaneously to bring the search bar at the top left corner of the HTML code box. Search for </body>.

9. Paste the copied code just above the </body> tag.

10. Click on the "Save Template" button above this HTML code box.

Now go and visit any of your blog posts to see the floating social sharing buttons in the sidebar. This is how my blog looks like.

I hope these 10 steps were easy to follow and that you have your own social sharing buttons on your blog now. Which option did you choose from the available "Sharing Tools" of website? Did you choose "Original Sharing Buttons" or "Sharing Buttons" or "Mobile Sharing Toolbar"?

Interview with Swetha Gupta - Saiswe Photography

Can you give a small intro about yourself?

A passionate photographer, with encouragement from my family, I , Swetha Gupta have turned my passion into profession. I am a creative person with a lot of dreams.

How did you get into this profession? What is YOUR story?

It all started off with early morning drives with my husband on weekends to capture the mesmerising beauty of sunrise. Capturing nature’s calmness and serenity gave me a clear vision as to what I wanted to do. The confidence and support given by family and friends, strengthened my belief that I have chosen the right path- “Photography”

Have you done a photography course? Where?

These days online is a huge platform for anyone starting afresh. I learnt a lot by joining a photography group on Facebook called Wide Angle. This was started by a group of friends who conducted a lot of photo-walks and workshops from which I have benefited a lot.

What type of a person can become a photographer?

Photography is not just about picking the camera and going Photography is a way of conveying a message silently. A person who sees beauty in the smallest of things definitely has an eye for photography.

Which photographer has influenced you?  Have you met them in person?

A lot of photographers specialising in their genre of photography whom I seriously follow are Mr.Prabhakaran, Mr.Sudhir Shivaram, Jassi OberoiCapt.Suresh Sharma and many more.

I have been to a lot photo-walks with Prabha Sir and attended Sudhir Sir’s workshop.

What message do you convey in your photographs?

I truly believe that candid shots are the best. Let it be a bird flying, a baby playing, a person reading, their true emotions are reflected when they know they aren’t watched. So my message is “be yourself” because you are at your best when you are yourself.

What technology, camera gear do you use and what would you suggest an aspiring photographer could try his/her hand on as a starter?

I started eight years ago with an advanced compact camera, Canon SX20. Soon I bought my first DSLR-Canon 550D with the kit lens 18-55mm along with the telephoto for bird/wildlife photography Canon 70-300 IS USM. Added to the list later on was the humble Canon 50mm 1.8 for my candid shots. Next on my wish list is the fully professional Canon 5D Mark III and a good lens.

   For a beginner, I would suggest a good advanced compact camera as it has unlimited possibilities right from Macro, landscapes, portraits, wildlife, birds, street and many more. This enables you to explore the genre that would interest you and then invest in the appropriate gear best suited for that genre.

Would you like to share two of your favorite photos?

A sunrise shot taken at a random beach on ECR.

A candid shot of my son’s friend.

What is the best part of being a woman photographer?

The best part of being a woman photographer is that the other women are at ease with me. And when people are at ease, the photographs come out natural.

What is your favorite film of all time, just for the camera work?

Dil Chahta hai and Zindagi Na Milegi Doobara are the ones I can remember now. L:ove them for the simplicity.

An Interview with Durga Devi, Chithoo Jewels

Can you give a small intro about yourself?

I am an engineering graduate and a budding online retailer. I make and sell my own handmade jewelries online. Brand name is "Chithoo Jewels".  My name is S. Durga Devi. I am a music lover. I am a very confident and a brave girl. :)

How did you get into this profession? What is YOUR story?

Mine is a very simple story. Just like any engineering graduate I was searching for a job. Later I thought to become my own boss, instead of searching for one to work with. LOL!

How long have you been running this business successfully?

I started this business last year in the month of April. I am going to celebrate the anniversary of my business soon.

And am proud of it. :)

Can a woman who is interested in doing ANY business enter into this business of selling jewelries?

Yes, if she has perseverance and determination.

Which woman business person has influenced you? How did they change the way you run your business? Have you met them in person?

To be frank am not influenced by anybody.

Would you like to share your words of wisdom to an aspiring business woman?

My important tip is to have your own pricing and creativity. Do not compare with others and if a customer does it drop that order. You can negotiate with customers but should not compromise on the price of your products. Don't feel bad when the market goes down. If you have creativity and innovation your market never goes down. Keep thinking of new designs and you will eventually end up being a successful business owner. I am still learning the tricks of the trade. :)

When I was jobless many people, including my parents and siblings taunted me, insulted me by saying,"You are useless". I always wanted to prove them wrong. If you are an Indian girl from a middle class family, you would know how others treat you when you don't find a job after the completion of your studies. Even now, they are not happy with my little business. Because this is not an IT or a government job. But I love doing what I am doing now. I am confident that some day, very soon, I will reach new heights. And that is the day they all would regret.

What is the best and worst decisions you have ever made in your professional journey?

Best decision is to never compare with others. Am yet to make any worst decisions.

Can you share two of your funny customer experiences?

I spend a lot of time and energy on creating a new design. Its quite natural that I expect appreciation from my customers for the new design. But when I send the new design to the customer all I get is "NICE" :)

So, I would think,"Ahh! This is not so attractive. I have to improve my creativity." When I share the same product in my FB Business Page, I get more comments like "Excellent, beautiful!". LOL!
What is the best part of being a woman business owner?

I am financially independent now, though am yet to become a millionaire. I would be one soon. I battle it all alone in my business, right from buying stock to delivering the products to customers. I am proud of myself.

What are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur, in your opinion?

Patience, Honesty and Optimism

How to add a 'Contact Form' to your Blog?

There are many websites from which we can build a contact form for free. No coding knowledge is necessary. This is a great help to the like of us, who have less or very limited knowledge of coding.

I used the website 123ContactForm to build a contact form for my blog. If you have a contact form on your website or in your blog, it would be easy for the visitors to your website or blog to contact you when they need your assistance or any information. And when building a contact form is free and easy, then why should we not use it to grow our business?

I will give you the steps here to build a simple contact form.

Step 1: Create New Form

After opening a user account in the website, Go to the Dashboard and click on Create New Form

Step2: Select your Form

Click on "Contact & Lead Form" in the next screen.

Step 3: Name your Contact Form

Enter the name of your Form in the next screen. I have given my form name as "Contact Uma" to differentiate from other forms that I have created for my clients. 123contactform lets a user build 5 forms for free.

Step 4: Edit the Fields of your Contact Form

I have edited the Name to read as "Your Name", Email to "Your Email id", Message to "How can I help you?" and finally "Submit" to "Send to Uma" to get a more personal conversation with my blog visitor. I suggest you have a very simple contact form in your blog for your visitors to write to you. Asking for too many information will have a negative impact.

Step 5: Get the Contact Form Code

Once you are done editing with your form fields, click on "Publish" at the top and select "Blogger" from the drop down list.

Step 6: Add the Contact Form in your Blog

Copy the code inside the box below the heading Blogger.

Go to the compose window of your post or page, click on  "HTML" and paste the copied form code inside the window. Save your post and you are done. Now you can see the form in your blog.

I have pasted inside the HTML window of my Page "Contact Uma"

This is how the contact form looks  in my "Contact Uma" Page.

Step 7: Test your "Contact Form"

You can test your contact form by sending a test message to yourself.

I sent a test message to myself and boom, I got an email alert to my email id.

Step 8: Customize your "Thank You" message after form submission.

You can edit the default thank you message and have your own personalized thank you message after the form submission. To customize your "Thank You" message, click on "Notifications" from the drop down list of "Settings".

Scroll down to "Thank You Page and Redirects" under the subheading "Form User Options (Sender)" and edit the message. DO NOT forget to click on "Save Changes" button at the top right corner once you complete editing your Thank You message.

There is a much easier way to add a contact form to your blog even without leaving your blog. But here you don't have the option to edit the field names.

You can use the "Add a gadget" option to select "Contact Form" from the gadget list to add a simple contact form to the sidebar.

If you want to know how to do that, you can refer this blog -

Haven't you added your contact form yet? Don't hesitate to write to me, if you need any help.

How to add Facebook Business Page to Blogger

There are many ways to get more views and likes to your Facebook Business Page. One of the best ways is to get likes from your blog visitors. So, I am going to show you how you can add your Facebook Business page to your blog. This involves just two simple steps. When these 2 steps are followed correctly, then your Page will look really good on your blog.

Step 1: Go to Facebook Page Plugin Page

Scroll down and enter your Facebook Page URL. Select the "Use Small Header" text-box. By default "Adapt to plugin container width" and "Show Friend's Faces" are already selected for you. You can deselect "Show Friend's Faces" if you don't want your friends faces there. After you chose these attributes, click on the "Get Code" button below the preview.

Step 2: Plugin Code

This is how your plugin code pop-up screen look

Step 3: Copy the first part of the code. Go to the "Design" Page of your Blog and click on "Edit HTML"

Step 4: In the next screen you will see a text box with HTML code. Click inside the box and Press 'ctrl+f' on your keyboard. Type body> in the search box. Please refer the image below.

Once you find the </body> paste the code that you have copied just above this </body> tag. Click on the "Save Template" button above this HTML code text box.

Step 5: Go to the "Layout" Page and click on "Add a gadget" in the sidebar

Choose "HTML/JavaScript" from the list of gadgets.

Step 6: Go to facebook plugin code pop-up screen and copy the second part of the code and paste it into the content box of the "HTML/JavaScript" screen. Save it by clicking on the "Save" button below.

Now go and view your blog. Do you see your Facebook Business Page at the right bar of your blog? Yes? Good Job. You did it. Time to celebrate! :)

Step 7: IF you are not seeing the Page there, then please copy the below code.

  window.fbAsyncInit = function() {
      appId      : '165572723506883',
      xfbml      : true,
      version    : 'v2.5'

  (function(d, s, id){
     var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];
     if (d.getElementById(id)) {return;}
     js = d.createElement(s); = id;
     js.src = "//";
     fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);
   }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));

Go back to Step 4 and paste this code just above the </body> tag. I am not sure whether the appId is the same now. You may want to check with the first part of the code that you have pasted earlier. If it is the same, you can leave the code unedited. If you see a different appId, then replace this with YOUR appId.

You would see your Facebook Business Page at the sidebar of your blog now.

This is how my FB Page looks in my blog.

What is YOUR Facebook Business Page? Please share your FB Business Page link in the comment below and let us give a thumbs-up to everybody else's Page. I would also like to see your blog with the FB Business Page added in the sidebar.
